Owners Notes

I live in Victoria, Australia, I own a Burlington SS.

I have records to show that the Burlington kit was imported into Australia in 1982 by a fellow who ran a squash centre / gymnasium in Swan Hill, Victoria. The original owner never did anything to begin construction and at some point in the 1990’s it passed hands to a fellow in Kew, a suburb of Melbourne. Again no real work by this person other than some minor paneling and I then acquired it from him in 2000.

To date, I have completed the rolling chassis (Herald van) and have a dummy engine sitting in the chassis for ‘sizing’. The body has some aluminium paneling done but is far from being complete.

All the glass panels are in very good condition with only minimal crazing of the gel coat to some of the panels. I would have approx 80% of the parts I need to build the car but trumpy parts are getting hard to find and what is here is getting overly expensive in Oz. So part of my build strategy is to look at other locally sourced options eg Japanese branded Oz cars.

The car is currently in storage at my parents home in country Victoria as I recently relocated my family from Melbourne to north east victoria.
