Mark's SS

Owners notes

I purchased my car in 1990 in a part built state, and then spent over 12 months putting it all together. She passed her mot on 15.7.01 and was on the road from the beginning of August that year. She bears the original 1965 registration of the donor car (a herald 1200) and is taxed as historic, therefore saving me a few bob! I have all the original sales receipts and the photographic history of the build and the original kit car magazine that introduced the SS. I worked in Leamington Spa when the car was made under the arches and met Haydn several times, this was before the fire of course!

The original owner of the car was a lad who went into the Navy and no longer had the time, it then passed to a man who wished to build a left hand drive kitcar for his daughter who lived in Germany. Fortunately not too much had been altered before I bought it. (I still have a left hand drive steering rack somewhere!)

The chassis is the ladder chassis provided with the kit, and the Herald bits bolt on! I have changed to Spitfire discs at the front and a Spitfire swing spring at the rear. I have a spare 13/60 engine and box rebuilt ready to drop in when I get round to it.
